BlackWatch Stables is a family-run farm backed by three generations of horse experience. Our goal is to breed and offer a small number of high quality warmblood sport horses each year that have talent enough to compete at upper levels in dressage, eventing or jumping, while having temperaments that are within reach of serious amateur owners. In order to achieve this goal, we have selected broodmares with talent, solid minds and excellent temperaments. We look to compound these qualities by crossing our mares with outstanding stallions known for passing their own talent and good temperaments on to their foals.

Quality doesn't just happen. Our mare and stallion pairings are chosen to achieve the best possible talent, temperament and correctness in our foals.

Beyond bloodlines, we believe that environmental inputs are key during the formative early days, weeks and months after birth. With that in mind, our foals are handled daily and exposed in a quiet, consistent and progressive fashion to the sights, sounds and activities they will experience throughout their lives. Our goal is to help our foals develop into confident, willing partners ready to embark on their careers.
